IMPORTANT: When reserving multiple vehicles, the payment cardholder must remain the named renter and Primary Driver on each reservation. Any vehicle the cardholder does not intend to drive must list the actual driver as the authorized 2nd driver.
The named renter must hold a valid driver’s license and provide proof of insurance, even if they choose not to drive during the rental period.
One additional driver may be added to the reservation at the time of booking -at no extra charge.
Both drivers must be covered by liability insurance and collision insurance or CDW (Collision damage waiver).
Insurance & Financial Responsibility
As the renter, you are responsible for all fees, fines, and damages during your rental period.
Drive About Car Rental does not provide insurance coverage. We accept personal auto insurance and third-party coverage, including liability insurance (RCLI : Renters Contingent Liability Insurance) and CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) policies purchased online. Coverage must include both the Primary Driver and any authorized 2nd Driver and be valid in both USA & Canada.
When using your personal vehicle insurance confirm with your insurance agent that your policy extends to rental vehicles for leisure travel in both USA and Canada.
Many credit cards provide CDW coverage, but CDW does not include liability insurance. Verify your benefits before relying on credit card coverage.
If personal insurance is not available, CDW and RCLI coverage may be purchased through third-party providers online. Do not substitute ‘Supplemental Liability” for RCLI (Renters Contingent Liability Insurance). Supplemental Liability is an add-on to an existing liability policy and is not a stand-alone liability policy.
